The workshop keeps a short intake list each morning. Motors booked ahead are lifted in the order the tags were written, and walk-in motors are placed on a waiting list that a technician reads back to the client before the motor is left. This keeps the trestle area clear and means that a motor never sits unattended at the stall door.
Where a client is sending a motor by courier, the company asks for the courier reference and the expected arrival day in advance. The intake tag is prepared before the motor arrives so that the courier handover is quick, and the client receives confirmation by email once the tag has been written and the motor is on a trestle.
Questions about a handover note that has already been issued are answered by tag number. The client can quote the number by email or by telephone, and the workshop will read the relevant lines of the bench sheet back to confirm the reading before answering. This avoids confusion where several motors of the same frame size are in service at one client site.
The intake tag bay accepts motors during business hours only. Collection sittings are booked in advance so that a technician is free to read the handover note with you.
Common questions
Yes, a short call or email is enough. A booking lets the workshop confirm a free trestle and prepare the intake tag before you arrive, so the motor can be lifted straight into a bay rather than waiting at the stall door.
The handover note is read back to you at the handover note desk during the collection sitting. A copy is sent to the email address on file, and the intake tag number stays in the workshop archive for any later enquiry.
Yes, with written authorisation sent in advance. The name of the collecting person is recorded on the handover note, and the intake tag is checked against the note at the collection sitting before the motor leaves the bay.
